Photography and Filming Policy
Photography or filming takes place at all Mellow Art events. It helps us to inspire future visitors and artists to discover our art events and to exhibit that our events are open to everyone. It also provides a means for an archive of the evolution of Mellow Art events over time.
In addition to creating and preserving a historical record of Mellow Art events, Mellow Art is also exercising its rights to freedom of expression, the public's right to information, and the ability to take and publish photographs that have perpetual promotional value—all of which are "legitimate interests."
Video and Photography Usage
Mellow Art's promotional channels, such as websites, social media feeds, printed collateral, and advertising, may use photos and videos taken at Mellow Art events.
Always positive
The images we choose to publish or share actively reflect visitor participation in Mellow Art events, and their use is always from an educational and celebratory perspective.
Notifying visitors
All Mellow Art events will incorporate signage at the entry which advises guests that photography or recording will be occurring, and guides guests to this Photography and Filming Policy for further information.
Right to Object
Importantly, individuals have the right to object to the processing of their images under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Because of Mellow Art events occurring in public settings, it isn't always practical for individuals to opt in or out of being photographed or filmed at an event. Where somebody does object, then Mellow Art media team will try their best to not photograph that individual, and all distinguished pictures will be erased on demand at the earliest possible opportunity, this is unless there appears to be a reason why the image should be retained under data protection or other laws or duties.
If you have any concerns or objections for the processing of images captured by Mellow Art photographers, please email mellowartmarket@gmail.com, so we can formally record the objection before deleting the relevant images.
